Someone getting rid of a mattress may be moving house, clearing a relative's home, or doing it one-handed on a phone. The site should work for all of that.

What we do
- Every page is plain HTML and readable without JavaScript. Search and filtering are enhancements, not requirements.
- Headings are in order, landmarks are labelled, and listings are real lists.
- Text colours are checked against their backgrounds for contrast, including the dark green panels.
- Keyboard focus is visible on every link, button and field.
- Layouts work down to a 375 pixel wide screen without side-scrolling.
- Images carry alt text, and decoration is hidden from screen readers.
Where we know it falls short
The older articles were written before these standards and have not all been re-checked. Some carry images of text, and a few tables do not have proper headers. We fix them as we revise each one.
