Privacy policy

The short version

You can read every page on this site without giving us anything. There is no account, no login, and nothing to fill in unless you choose to contact us. We do not sell personal information.

What the site collects

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which guides are used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address, the pages you view, and general details such as browser and approximate location. We use it to decide which cities to research next. We do not use it to identify individual people, and we have not enabled Google Signals or advertising features.

Searches. When you type a city or ZIP code into a search box, that text is put into the address of the page you are sent to, so it appears in the URL and in analytics. Do not type anything private into it.

The ZIP lookup. Entering a ZIP code loads a static file of ZIP-to-city mappings into your browser and matches it there. Your ZIP code is not sent to us or to anyone else.

The contact form. If you use it, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. We use them to reply and nothing else. The message is delivered to us by email and kept in that mailbox.

Server logs. Our host records standard request information, including IP addresses, as part of serving and protecting the site.

What the site does not do

No advertising networks. No remarketing or ad pixels. No tracking of you across other websites. No selling or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. No cookies other than the analytics cookies described above.

Other companies that receive data

• Google — analytics, and web fonts. Font files are loaded from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address on every page, whether or not you interact with anything.
• Cloudflare — hosts and serves the site.
• Our email provider — delivers contact form messages.

Links to other sites

Every listing links to the provider's own page so you can check it. Links to A Bedder World carry tags identifying that you arrived from this site, so we can see whether these guides are useful. Once you follow any link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Your choices

Browser settings and extensions can block analytics and cookies; the site works normally without them. Most browsers also send a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honour as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information — though as above, we do neither.

If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we hold, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for asking. If you are in the UK or EU, you have equivalent rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection. Ask through the contact form and we will respond.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
