Curbside or inside pickup; stairs and long carries cost extra. The price is a pickup fee plus a recycling fee on each piece, so it is a starting price rather than a rate per mattress, and a second piece collected on the same visit costs less than the first. The total for your items is shown at the booking step before you confirm. Owned by the operator of this site.

2City curbside pickup in Doraville
Doraville’s own collection service takes the mattress from outside your home. You normally have to book a date in advance and follow their wrapping rules.
City of Doraville free bulk item pickup (mattresses and box springs)
'available to all single-family homes' in the City of Doraville. 'overflow trash bags and waste generated outside of the main residential home are not eligible for collection.'
Conditions and source
Free and by request only. The city lists under 'What Qualifies as a Bulk Item (No Fee)' the items that 'can be scheduled for pickup at no cost', naming 'Mattresses and box springs' alongside furniture, toilets, empty appliances with doors removed, and prepared yard trimmings. 'Bulk pickups are by request only and are not collected automatically': the resident completes the city's online request form and must 'Allow up to 10 business days for collection', with staff confirming details and a date if needed. 'Items should be placed at the curb by 7:00 AM on the confirmed collection day.' Bulk items, yard waste, limbs and disabled-resident assistance are handled by Doraville Public Works at 470-294-2486 or public.works@doravillega.us; active trash and recycling collection is Waste Pro's, at 770-777-1447.
Not confirmed: No limit is published on how many bulk items one request may cover or how often a household may book, and the city does not say whether a mattress and its box spring count as one request or two.
Not confirmed: Residents of apartments and condominiums are not addressed; the service is stated to be for single-family homes and no alternative is offered.
Not confirmed: No wrapping, bagging or bed-bug rule is published, and the city does not say whether a collected mattress is recycled or landfilled.

'Gwinnett County's solid waste and recycling service includes collection of bulk items and white goods.' Five haulers collect 'in assigned service areas' — Red Oak Sanitation (North), Republic Services (East), Southern Sanitation (South), Waste Management (Northwest) and Waste Pro of Georgia (Southwest). The page does not state whether properties inside Gwinnett's incorporated cities are included.
Conditions and source
'Contact your hauler 48 hours prior to your pick-up day to schedule collection', or submit a request through the county's online bulk pickup form. Bulk items and white goods are covered by the base service fee, $24.14 per month or $289.68 for the year in 2026 and $25.01 per month or $300.12 for the year in 2027, with a reduced rate for residents aged 62 and over. Appliances must be emptied and have Freon removed and tagged by a qualified technician. Mattresses are not named individually; they fall under the generic bulk-item category.
Not confirmed: Eligibility is not published: the page does not say whether city properties are included in the county program.
Not confirmed: Mattresses are not named explicitly.
Not confirmed: No per-item charge, quantity limit or wrapping rule is published.
Not confirmed: No disposal outcome is published.

Donors inside the Furniture Bank's pickup area, which 'includes most of Cobb, Gwinnett, Fulton and DeKalb counties', confirmed by entering a zip code on the pickup request form.
Conditions and source
Mattresses and box springs are accepted in any condition. Specialty beds (bunk, loft, murphy, water beds), mattress toppers, futons, cribs, sleeper sofas and items over six feet tall are refused. Two scheduled pickup tiers are offered: a standard service described as free to low cost and a priority service at low to medium cost; neither handles large appliances or disassembly. Drivers decide acceptance at the door, and inside-the-home pickup requires prior arrangement.
Not confirmed: The pickup tiers are described only as 'Free - Low' and 'Low - Medium' cost; no dollar amounts are published.
Not confirmed: 'Most of ... Fulton' is not defined by zip code, so coverage of an individual Atlanta address is not guaranteed.

CHaRM DeKalb mattress and box spring drop-off (by appointment)
Open to residents and businesses: the fee page prices both and states no residency rule. Appointments are required.
Conditions and source
1225 Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30032, 404-600-6386. By appointment only, Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; closed October 22, November 25 (early), 26 to November 28, 24 to December 28, December 31 and January 1. "Home mattresses and box springs" are charged "$15 TWIN/FULL; $18 QUEEN/KING PER MATTRESS OR BOX SPRING", the same for residents and businesses, and the page links a "MATTRESS RECYCLING VIDEO". The same non-profit's mattress post, recorded for CHaRM Atlanta, accepts spring mattresses only and refuses foam, foam toppers and wet or heavily soiled mattresses.
- $15 — Twin and full mattresses and box springs, each, at CHaRM DeKalb ("$15 TWIN/FULL ... PER MATTRESS OR BOX SPRING"); the same for residents and businesses. Appointment required.
- $18 — Queen and king mattresses and box springs, each, at CHaRM DeKalb ("$18 QUEEN/KING PER MATTRESS OR BOX SPRING"); the same for residents and businesses. Appointment required.
Not confirmed: The fee page does not distinguish the two sites; it is not stated in so many words that DeKalb charges the same as Atlanta, though the page says it lists items accepted at either.
Not confirmed: No per-visit quantity limit is published.

Visit siteSeminole Road Landfill — household self-haul
No residency rule is published on either the fee sheet or the bulky-item page; the department calls Seminole Road its "Public disposal facility" and offers it as a "Self-haul option for residents", while describing its Central, East and North transfer stations as commercial disposal sites. The animal crematory on the same fee sheet does distinguish DeKalb residents from non-residents, so the county knows how to write a residency rule and has not written one for the landfill gate.
Conditions and source
4203 Clevemont Road, Ellenwood, GA 30294, 404-687-4040. Open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Charging is by weight at the scale, not per item: municipal disposal is $95.00 a ton and the minimum scale fee is $48.00 for any material up to 999 pounds, so one mattress costs $48 unless it travels with a heavier load. Construction and demolition material, yard trimmings, trees, inert materials, industrial and commercial waste are all $95 a ton. Residential tires are $10 each and no commercial tires are taken; an appliance containing Freon is $48. Asbestos and large animals carry a $200 hole-preparation charge plus tonnage. The county's own bulky-item page points households here as the alternative to a fee-based curbside collection, noting "Pay-per-weight pricing" and that construction materials are accepted.
Not confirmed: The $48 minimum comes from the county's April 2026 fee sheet; the bulky-item page cites a gate minimum of $16.50 and $99.80 per ton in its dead-animal paragraph. The two are not reconciled anywhere on the county site.
Not confirmed: No mattress-specific rate is published, and nothing says whether bedding is recycled; a landfill gate implies disposal and no recovery is claimed.

Roswell Transfer Station mattress drop-off
Open to residents and non-residents for non-construction material: "As of July 1, 2025, the Roswell Transfer Station accepts non-construction materials from both residents and non-residents." The rate turns on residence: "Proof of residence within Roswell city limits is required to receive resident rates." Construction and demolition material is taken from Roswell residents only and is "currently not accepted from non-residents".
The last date published for this was Jul 1, 2025, so it has passed.
Conditions and source
The Non-Construction Waste Fee Schedule effective July 1, 2025 groups "Boxspring, Couch, Mattress" together, free to a Roswell resident and "$20 Each" to a non-resident. Bagged trash is free to residents and $3 per bag otherwise; lamps, rugs and vacuums free or $10 each; ordinary furniture free or $15 each. Hours are "Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m." at 1810 Hembree Road, Alpharetta, GA 30009. Not accepted: hazardous waste (anti-freeze, gasoline, lighter fluid, pesticides, propane tanks), yard waste (grass clippings, mulch, rocks, sand, tree limbs) and recyclables (appliances, cardboard, electronics, household batteries, lawn mowers, oil, metal, paint, tires). Roswell residents are directed to city household hazardous waste events and to the Roswell Recycling Center for those categories instead.
- $0 — "Free" for a Roswell resident: the Non-Construction Waste Fee Schedule effective July 1, 2025 lists "Boxspring, Couch, Mattress" at a resident fee of Free and "Proof of residence within Roswell city limits is required to receive resident rates." Open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- $20 — "$20 Each" non-resident fee for "Boxspring, Couch, Mattress" under the same fee schedule effective July 1, 2025, since non-construction material has been accepted from non-residents as well as residents since July 1, 2025. A mattress and box spring would therefore be $40.00 for a household outside the Roswell city limits.
Not confirmed: The page does not state what form of proof of residence is accepted, nor any load limit on a resident's free drop-off.
Not confirmed: The page does not say what becomes of a mattress after drop-off, so the outcome is not established as recycling.
Not confirmed: No weekend hours are published.

What DeKalb County offers
Established for the county as a whole, so it applies across Doraville and its neighbors.
- For the month of October 2026 only, DeKalb County will collect a mattress from the curb free and without a request. Its Fall 2026 SWEEP frequently-asked-questions sheet describes the Solid Waste Environmental Enhancement Program as including "free curbside residential bulky item collection", running "The entire month of October", with "Bulky item collection will occur within DSWM's entire service area" — that is, unincorporated DeKalb and the eight cities the department serves, not Doraville. Mattresses are named among the accepted items: "Furniture (chairs, tables, sofas, mattresses, dressers, cabinets); appliances...; electronics...; other items such as lawn mowers...; lawn furniture; toys; bicycles; toilets; playground equipment." Refused are riding lawn mowers, pianos, auto parts, household hazardous waste, medical waste, tires and special collection items. No booking is needed: "Items at the curb will automatically be collected, based on the schedule above." The schedule follows the household's normal service day — Monday customers Oct. 2 or 3, Tuesday customers Oct. 9 or 10, Wednesday customers Oct. 16 or 17, Thursday customers Oct. 23 or 24 — with items put out on the Thursday of the week they are served, in an accessible spot clear of hydrants and mailboxes. The sheet closes the loophole a reader might hope for: "Any items placed curbside after residents' assigned free bulky item collection day will require a prepaid fee for servicing." This is a dated campaign, not a standing entitlement, and lapses at the end of October 2026. Source
- Checked on 2026-09-29 for DeKalb County coverage. The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta does reach DeKalb: its donation page states "The Furniture Bank's pickup area includes most of Cobb, Gwinnett, Fulton and DeKalb counties." The charity is already recorded for its acceptance terms and its collection arrangements under its Cobb, Gwinnett and Fulton entries; the fact established here is coverage only — DeKalb is one of the four counties named, and "most of" is the charity's own hedge, so a particular DeKalb address is not guaranteed. It is the only donation route in the county that takes bedding at all, and it collects rather than accepting drop-offs. Source

What to check before you go
- Say if the mattress is wet, stained, or has any sign of pests — that is the usual reason one is turned away.
- Ask what the total will be. Box springs, stairs, and extra items are often charged separately.
- Check you qualify. Many sites serve only residents of their own city or county.
